Webinar Description

The goal of USP General Chapter <800> is to ensure that clinicians safely handle hazardous drugs and are protected from drug exposure.

  • Clinicians need to have chemo-rated protective equipment, appropriate spill and clean-up items and closed transfer devices to draw the hazardous drug out of its vial and administer it to the patient.
  • Those who admix sterile hazardous drugs will be required to adhere to specific room and hood requirements
  • Hazardous drug preparations should be clearly labeled and packaged separately in case of breakage and spills

Anyone who handles these drugs needs to be in compliance by December 2019.
