Vaporized Hydrogen Peroxide Sterilization in Health Care Facilities: Technology and Applications
Date:
Oct. 18, 2017
Time:
2:30 PM ET

Webinar Description

Overview
Vaporized hydrogen peroxide sterilization is technique sensitive and there is much less room for end-user error as compared to steam or ethylene oxide sterilization. The variability introduced by the operator in regards to the load size, load material composition, moisture content (dryness of the load) and temperature can significantly affect the process and result in unexpected sterilization cycle failures. This webinar will review the use of sterilization best practices and how they can help the SPD to succeed.

Learning Objectives
  • Review options for vaporized hydrogen peroxide sterilization available to health care facilities
  • Examine the basic chemistry of vaporized hydrogen peroxide sterilization
  • Explain the validation of devices and packaging labeled for vaporized hydrogen peroxide sterilization
  • Identify clinical practices that can adversely affect the outcome of vaporized hydrogen peroxide sterilization in health care facilities
  • Attendees of the live event will receive one contact hour
Each 1-hour web meeting is approved by IAHCSMM, CBSPD and is 3M Health Care Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nurses CEP 5770 for one contact hour
